    Event: Mantis Strategic Defense Open Range Day
    This event will focus on basic shooters ally for plinking static standing drills that highlight different shooting traits of accuracy, both individually and as a group. Students can suggest drills from the drill cards, provided they are suitable for everyone’s skill levels. There will be competitions against one another and some movement drills. Sold day to bring the family and come shoot the dust off your old guns.

    Basic Handgun Course

    This course is designed to help shooters learn their skills and introduce a style of controlled shooting when using a handgun. Topics will we cover are base foundation, controlled and accuracy of a handgun, briefly cover zeroing for those with optics, stance from the draw, presentation, different kinds of draw strokes that can assist finding the sights fast and your dot, sight confirmation levels when shooting targets at different distances and speed such as 5 yards and out to 25yards.

    • Students are responsible for ammo, gear, guns and eye and ear pro. If you don’t have a gun email us for us to possibly have one for use for class.

    Our Basic Level Carbine Rifle course will improve your skills with your AR-15, Pistol Caliber Carbine, or AK. This session emphasizes quick shooting and handling while enhancing safe firearm practices.

    You will learn to operate your rifle swiftly, manage recoil, reload efficiently, and handle any problems while shooting. Please bring a sling. You will practice low and high ready stances and shoot from a standing position, avoiding placing your rifle on surfaces.

    Participants will refine their skills through fast drills, learning proper stance, grip, recoil management, sight adjustment, and troubleshooting shooting issues.

We offer Oregon's DPSST (Department of Public Safety Standards and Training) courses for private security professionals, as well as various weapons handling courses for civilian carry.
